Strategies

  1. Concentrate our research on the conjunction of the areas of competitiveness, strategy and technology. Based on our core competence we focus on:
    • Sectorial Analysis
    • Technology and competitiveness
    • Market Studies
    • Program Evaluation
    • Strategic Cost

  2. Integrate two complementary forms of knowledge generation: Sectoral Studies and Consulting.

In the sectoral studies, we analyze the characteristics of structure and technology for different industrial sectors of the country. This line of studies is carried out permanently within the Center as a way of monitoring the competitive evolution of industries.

In addition, we have developed more than 150 research and consulting projects where state-of-the-art knowledge is applied to the problems of different companies and institutions, in order to solve specific problems, thus helping to determine their strategic direction, improve their competitive capabilities and transform your returns.

  3. Form teams of researchers with academic degrees and experience in world-renowned institutions. During the past twenty years, the CEC has configured teams of specialists ad hoc to the project in question, relying on academics from the divisions of: Actuarial Science, Statistics and Mathematics; Administration and Accounting; Economics, Law and Social Sciences and Engineering.

  4. Use the theory and practice of project management, guaranteeing compliance with the parameters of quality and time specified by the user.

Benefits

Behind the CEC initiative is the strong belief on the importance of promoting cooperation between university and industry. Traditionally, Mexico has experienced a great gap between the universities as knowledge-creating centers and companies as users of this knowledge. Although this breach has been the norm in our country, the experience in other countries shows the value of cooperation. In countries such as Japan, United States, Germany and Sweden, companies constantly turn to universities to receive advice, recognizing their advantages over other consulting agents. Some of these advantages are:

  • Cutting edge knowledge acquired through research and the continuous review of academic publications.
  • Impartiality, with no previous commitment to any specific solution.
  • Ability to generate capabilities within companies, combining consulting work with customized training.
  • Cross-disciplinary, taking elements from different academic fields.
